Who Turns Up
Someone who works on the doors this city actually has. A lot of the houses we get called to were built between 1938 and 2014, with the median sitting around 1955, and that shows up in the garages - narrow openings, older jamb framing, torsion springs sized for hardware nobody stocks in bulk anymore. We work in Pittsburgh proper and the boroughs around it: Hill District, Squirrel Hill North and South, Hazelwood, Beechview, Carrick, Brookline, Highland Park, Brighton Heights, out to Homestead, Baldwin, Green Tree, Brentwood, Swissvale, McKees Rocks, Crafton, Munhall, Wilkinsburg, Bellevue, Castle Shannon, Whitehall, Stowe, Braddock, Carnegie, Forest Hills, West Mifflin, Glenshaw, North Braddock, Churchill, Fox Chapel, Dravosburg, Pleasant Hills, East Pittsburgh, Duquesne, Turtle Creek, Verona, Bethel Park, and Bridgeville. If your address falls outside that range, tell us when you call - we'd rather say so upfront than waste your time on a truck roll we can't back up.

Contacting Us
Call 1(412) 674-9419 and tell us the borough or neighborhood, the door's approximate age, and what it's doing wrong - won't open, off track, noisy, spring snapped. That's usually enough to get a technician scheduled and a realistic price range before anyone drives out. We're based at 5001 Baum Blvd, Pittsburgh, PA 15213, central enough to reach most of the neighborhoods and boroughs we cover within the day. If you'd rather look at what we work on before calling, our home page lays out the services. We don't do sales pitches on the phone - we ask what's broken, tell you what it likely takes to fix it, and let you decide.

Garage Door Service
Most Pittsburgh garage doors were hung between 1938 and 1955 on hardware built for a milder repair schedule than our winters actually deliver. Here's what fails and why.

Straight answers about garage door repair in Pittsburgh. Still unsure? Ask us directly.
Do you work on garages built before 1960?
Yes, and it's most of what we see. The median house in this service area was built around 1955, so a lot of our calls are older torsion or extension spring setups on hardware that predates the openers people have installed since. We carry parts sized for that era, not just current stock.
How far out do you go from the city?
Our regular range runs out to about 8 to 9 miles, covering areas like Bethel Park, Bridgeville, Fox Chapel, and Allison Park, with closer and more frequent visits to neighborhoods like Squirrel Hill, Beechview, Brookline, and the Hill District.
Why does my spring keep breaking in winter?
Cold steel loses some flexibility, and a spring nearing the end of its cycle life is more likely to snap on a hard freeze than a mild day. This area sits in a severe cold climate band, and we see winter spring failures rise every year with the temperature drop.
Will you tell me if repair isn't worth it?
Yes. If a door is old enough that parts are hard to source, or the repair cost is approaching what replacement would run, we say so on site before doing anything. We'd rather lose a repair job than talk you into fixing something not worth fixing.
